Special Feature – How to Stay Safe in Extreme Heat
Our Community Engagement Core created a fact sheet on how to stay safe in extreme heat and was featured on the Partnerships for Environmental Public Health (PEPH) monthly resource newsletter! The PEPH is a network of scientists, community members, educators, healthcare providers, public health officials, and policymakers who share the goal of increasing the impact of environmental public health research at the local, regional, and national level.
“With the holidays coming up, many people will take vacations to warmer places. Knowing how to stay safe in extreme heat is important year-round. This Fact Sheet from Emory University’s P20 CHART Center discusses what heat illness is, how to recognize signs of heat illness, and how you can keep yourself and others safe. Additionally, the fact sheet provides important resources about cooling centers for those located near Atlanta”.
